William Eggleston Inspiration...

I saw such an inspiring documentry about photographer William Eggleston, last night, that I made myself stop the car and take 3 photos today of 'banal' architecture from the Midlands, but which has always been part of my life... he also takes photos of public signs, which are completely wonderful

...and more public collage

some white things I liked the look of...

these doors reminded me of that old sitcom with Peter Bowles, James Bolam and the other poor bloke who's never been in anything since, where they were all miserabe in hospital beds for what seemed like a half hour eternity...(how hilarious!!!). It was called H.A.P.P.Y, I think..which it certainly wasn't...hence my view on these doors!
Maybe the patient/actor who we've never seen since, is still in bed behind them...waiting to be discharged...

aaah! How wise...

and Blue...
banal rules!

  1. very funny and your very inspiring too,
got a bit excited there looking at red postbox, for a minute i thought it said EP(me) ,not ER
why are all your post boxes called after an american hospital drama?

isn't that free diabetes a really kind offer?

didn't gary hume do a brilliant series of painted doors quite like that one?

  2. I always love popping over to your blog to see what you've found. Your collages have just made me laugh out loud! Hoorah for red, white and blue too!

  3. I left you an award on my blog, please check it out!

  4. Ye, I have always been attracted to the gritty, and rundown, ... banal ... hmmm, not sure. Something to think about.

I like the 'store' painted on brick.
