Friday...

I needed to revamp the ikebana today, but I have so much orange in the garden at the moment I just wanted to use some subtler colours...

The honeysuckle smells amazing so I thought I’d try to use some...
...as well as a tiny piece of fennel as I didn’t want to pick the large flowers...
and as this evergreen shrub ( I’m not entirely sure what it is ) is flowering too, I thought it would provide some frothy texture...

I started to arrange the honeysuckle...
...but just couldn’t get it to flow
So I took it all out and just used a stem which didn’t have many flowers on...
I then added poppy stems and fennel...
...and had a bit more of a fiddle before I was happy to leave it alone!

  1. It looks beautiful Philippa, what I also like is your honesty about things not always working instantly, it is refreshing to see x

    1. Thanks Emma! Yes, sometimes things just don’t go the way I’d hoped but then something else seems to happen... ( I think the workshop may be in early November as I’m sorting out the place to have it...will keep you posted) x
