Just Thought I'd Share...

Sometimes I get real waves of affection for my studio, and as I've been pottering about in it this weekend, I just thought I'd share some of it's ordered corners...
favorite places...

scrap-book walls...
(often shipwreck newspaper phobia persistantly fascinates me)

car-boot cases...

mess amongst the Susie Cooper...

...and a bit more mess...

and old and new canvases waiting for new life...

...and I started putting some pylon moments into paint in a sketchbook, and when I put it up on the top Agatha Christie shelf, I discovered an old poster...
Why I havn't looked after it properly is a mystery, as it was from one of my happiest acting jobs about 9 years ago.
I was in 'Comedy of Errors' at Shakespeare's Globe, and here are a couple of the charaters I played featured on the poster...
Brace yourself....
I'm sure you can imagine how thrilled I was at the prospect of wearing a fat suit throughout the summer months with not a hint of vanity...mmm!

However, the designer must have taken pity on me and gave me lipstick, curly slippers (which I still have) a pretty top and mini cymbols for the Courtesan...
The fat suit was worth it...and maybe I'll share 'Fishboy' with you on another occasion!
Anyway, it made me laugh out loud this weekend...

And THIS made me absolutely scream with delight, as it was the first time I'd cooked roast pork at home (I never thought I'd ever be able to do crackling ever) and courtesy of my mother's guidance,
look how crispy I got it!
My mother is a wonder!

  1. Oooo, I love your studio! I imagine it's a hugely inspiring place to work. Great poster! I'm very envious of your cooking skills (eat your heart out Delia Smith). I'm a complete duffer in the kitchen...I even managed to burn an M&S 'all you have to do is heat it in the oven' meal the other day. Luckily I married a man who loves cooking, so at least we won't starve! Katie x

  2. Great studio! and the dinner!
Looks like you have some lovely old things in there. I love having a rummage around through old art work and flea market hoards! so fantastic when you find something you'd forgotten about.

  3. love your studio, it looks so organized, do you know where everything is? that is my goal ,I would love a place for everything and everything in its place....i need to stop getting things ! love your posters, do you still have the courtesan costume?
your comments were really funny, joely richardson sends her lovey love.
conleth has a massive head of black hair but its full of glue from that ridiculous hat!! i'll send you some exclusive photos ;0)

  4. Love the peeks into your studio space. Oh, and that dinner looks mighty fine and tasty!

  5. Thanks for sharing your studio: it is homely, earthy and full of activity. And has your trademark phone box stamped all over it. Great post. :)

  6. Great Studio, would love to look closer. I love your cat, so beautiful.

  7. Wonderful studio - Im envious. Have put an award for you on my blog - feel free to take the award without the "obsessions" if you wish!

  8. Hello Philippa
